Horta-Guinardó

El Guinardó

If you live here, you trade a steep walk home for the view from the bunkers, and keep your rent under €500 while you do.

Terraced streets running up toward the Carmel bunkers and Guinardó park, with the Hospital de Sant Pau at its foot. Almost no tourism and little English. The views are the compensation for the gradient.

Up the hill behind the Sagrada Família, where the rents finally drop below €500 a room. Green, steep and very local.
